An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially driven Junior Merchandiser to join an incredibly successful and fast-paced consumer business. This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who is hungry to learn, enjoys working at pace and wants genuine exposure to all areas of merchandising and the wider commercial operation.
Reporting directly into the Head of Merchandising, you'll be involved in everything from planning and pricing through to trading meetings, stock decisions and supplier management. No two days will be the same, and you'll have the opportunity to build a really strong understanding of the full merchandising process.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Support planning and range decisions, reviewing what stock is needed and when
- Analyse sales and stock data to identify opportunities and risks
- Review the buy and make recommendations on stock requirements
- Support pricing, promotions and sign-off processes
- Reforecast and manage stock to maximise sales and profitability
- Review WSSI and contribute to trading decisions
- Attend trading meetings and play an active role in commercial sign-offs
- Manage critical paths, ensuring products are ordered and delivered on time
- Work closely with suppliers, including factories across the Far East
- Analyse best and worst sellers and turn data into clear commercial actions
- Work closely with Buying, Planning, Digital and Supply Chain teams
About You:
- Experience in a Senior AM, Junior Merchandiser or similar planning/merchandising role
- Previous planning experience with a good understanding of stock and range management
- Confident working with pricing, planning and commercial data
- Strong Excel skills and comfortable running and analysing large data sets
- Experience working with overseas suppliers, ideally across the Far East
- Highly detail-oriented and organised, with excellent attention to detail
- Commercially curious and genuinely interested in understanding what sells and why
- Hungry to learn and keen to develop a broad understanding of the industry
- Confident communicator who enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
