Founding Head of Go-To-Market Manchester (hybrid) B2B AI Software The first GTM hire A rare founding opportunity to define the category and own go-to-market at a profitable, fast-growing UK AI software company.
We're partnering with an award-winning, bootstrapped and genuinely profitable Manchester AI software business.
Their platform automates high-volume correspondence and document processing for large enterprises in regulated sectors, and it's already proven at scale with major clients.
They've built all of this without a marketing function, and now they're ready to go from high-touch, early-adopter deals to a repeatable, productised go-to-market motion.
This is the hire that makes that happen.
The opportunity This is a true founding role: the first dedicated go-to-market and marketing hire, working directly with the founders to decide what the company is, who it sells to and what it says, then building the engine (and in time the team) to scale it.
It's hands-on and build-from-scratch, a player-coach who does the work before managing it.
Not a brand-only role, not a sales-quota role, not a pure management role.
What you'll own Positioning and category: turn "we can apply this to anyone" into a sharp, defensible "we are the X for Y." Market and beachhead selection: decide which vertical to commit to first, on real evidence, and sequence the rest.
Messaging and copy: the website, the sales narrative and the outbound, written by you, not briefed to an agency.
The demand-generation engine: channels, sequences, content and qualification that create pipeline from near-zero.
Events and sector community, and shaping how the product adapts to each new market you choose.
Build the playbook, then hire and lead the team behind it.
What we're looking for You've crossed the chasm before: taken a B2B software product from bespoke, consultative or early-adopter selling into a repeatable, productised, mainstream motion.
This is the core requirement.
Early-stage B2B Saa S go-to-market experience (roughly seed to Series B), where the category wasn't yet defined, not inside a big company with an established brand and playbook.
A hands-on category and positioning builder who has authored a narrative a company actually went to market with.
Demand generation from near-zero, with pipeline numbers you owned.
You write and you build, and you can sell into senior, sophisticated buyers.
Strongly preferred: experience in regulated or vertical B2B (legal-tech, regtech, fintech, proptech, insurance), and breadth across more than one market.
Why join A genuine greenfield founding role: define the category and own GTM from the ground up, rare at a company already generating real revenue.
Profitable and bootstrapped, so no VC pressure and the freedom and budget to do GTM properly.
Direct line to the founders, outsized impact, and a strong package including meaningful equity.
Manchester HQ, hybrid working.
