We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Stores Specialist with engineering qualifications and experience to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the stores at a customer site along with the procurement, storage, and distribution of engineering materials and equipment, ensuring seamless supply chain operations within the engineering department. Your expertise will help optimize inventory levels, streamline processes, and support maintenance and project activities through effective category management and data analysis.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and issuance of engineering materials, tools, and spare parts using Microsoft Excel.
- Conduct data mining and analysis to monitor inventory levels, identify stock discrepancies, and forecast future material needs.
- Implement process improvements to enhance stocking procedures, material handling, and shipping & receiving workflows.
- Utilize data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau to generate reports on stock movements, procurement trends, and supply chain performance.
- Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and 3PL providers through negotiation to ensure timely delivery of materials at optimal costs.
- Perform root cause analysis on stock shortages or delays to develop corrective action plans.
- Support category management initiatives by analyzing procurement data and optimizing supplier relationships for engineering supplies.
- Assist in logistics planning for shipping & receiving activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, stock levels, and warehouse activities in compliance with organizational policies.
Experience
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, SQL or equivalent tools for reporting and visualization purposes.
- Experience in working within an engineering environment.
- Knowledge of engineering parts such as belts, bearings, sprockets and chain.
- Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements effectively.
