As an OTC Collections Team Leader, you'll play a key role in supporting and developing a team of six Collections Team Members while ensuring the efficient delivery of Order to Cash (OTC) collections activities. You'll provide coaching, guidance and leadership to your team, helping to maximise cash collection, resolve customer disputes, and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll do day to day:

  • Lead, coach and support a team of six Collections Team Members to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Provide regular feedback, guidance and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
  • Define and implement collection strategies alongside the Head of Order to Cash.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across collections processes and procedures.
  • Take responsibility for collecting cash across the debtor ledger and improving cash flow performance.
  • Act as a key point of contact for customers, resolving queries and disputes professionally and efficiently.
  • Build strong relationships with internal departments and external customers to maximise on-time payments and minimise business disruption.
  • Ensure timely cleared funds confirmations are provided to operational teams to support vehicle releases.
  • Investigate, manage and resolve customer issues, maintaining full ownership through to resolution.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate debtor ledger records through proactive housekeeping activities.
  • Ensure all OTC activities are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with company procedures.
  • Support compliance with Working Capital, Cash Management and Delegation of Authority policies.
  • Ensure compliance with Data Protection and GDPR requirements.
  • Promote outstanding customer service standards across all interactions.

Helpful skills and qualifications:

  • Previous experience within a Credit Control, Collections, Accounts Receivable or Order to Cash environment.
  • Proven experience leading, coaching or mentoring team members.
  • Strong understanding of collections processes, cash collection techniques and dispute resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build effective relationships.
  • Highly customer-focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Confident using financial systems, CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organisational skills and a structured approach to process control.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of GDPR and handling confidential financial information appropriately.
