Rapier Employment is recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers on behalf of a leading blue-chip logistics provider based in Allington. Pay & Benefits

  • £19.05 per hour (04:00 - 16:00)
  • Overtime after 42.5 hours: £25.34 per hour
  • £20 weekly attendance bonus

Shift Information

  • Monday to Friday
  • Start times between 04:00 and 06:00
  • Average 12-hour shifts
  • Minimum 8 hours' guaranteed pay per shift
  • Ongoing, full-time work with consistent hours
  • Two days of paid training before your first shift

The Role

As an HGV Class 1 Driver, you'll be working on a well-established logistics contract, operating modern curtain-sided vehicles and delivering a professional, reliable service to regular customers. This role involves a mixture of deliveries and collections, with some load securing and strapping required. You'll be working with planned routes and regular delivery points, allowing you to build familiarity with your workload.

Your Responsibilities

  • Driving HGV Class 1 (C+E) curtain-sided vehicles
  • Completing scheduled deliveries and collections
  • Securing loads using straps where required
  • Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks
  • Ensuring all deliveries and collections are completed safely and on time
  • Completing all relevant transport documentation accurately
  • Providing a professional and courteous service to customers

What We're Looking For

  • A valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence
  • Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card (DQC)
  • Digital Tachograph Card
  • A minimum of 6 months' HGV Class 1 driving experience
  • No more than 6 penalty points (no DR, DD, CD or IN endorsements)
  • The right to work in the UK
  • A reliable, professional, and safety-focused attitude
  • Good communication skills and a strong work ethic
