JOB OVERVIEW

This is an excellent opportunity for a Field Calibration Technician to join a growing organisation providing calibration, service and repair support for sophisticated process instrumentation. As the Field Calibration Technician you will work across customer sites and workshop environments, carrying out field and workshop calibrations, preparing service reports and test certificates, and supporting clients across a range of industrial sectors. The Field Calibration Technician will need strong instrumentation calibration experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with customers while managing a varied workload.

DUTIES

  • Carry Out Calibration Work: Complete field and workshop calibrations on process instrumentation
  • Service and Repair Equipment: Provide calibration service and repair support for process instrumentation
  • Support Customer Sites: Work in the field across customer locations, with occasional travel across Great Britain and the Continent
  • Prepare Documentation: Raise accurate service reports and test certificates following completed work
  • Build Client Relationships: Develop positive working relationships with customers while representing the organisation professionally on site
  • Balance Field and Workshop Work: Work across both field-based assignments and workshop or office-based activity

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL

  • Instrumentation calibration experience in one or more relevant sectors, such as chemical, life sciences, power, food, steel, water, wastewater, paper, oil and gas, or petrochemical
  • Full driving licence
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
  • Flexible approach to working activities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident, assertive and professional approach
  • Ability to develop good working relationships with customers
  • Good organisational skills
  • Excellent punctuality and timekeeping

DESIRABLE

  • Ideally qualified to ONC / HNC level, preferably in Electronics or Instrumentation and Control
  • Field-based or customer-facing experience
  • CCNSG Card
  • CompEx 1-4 / 1-6
  • Experience within process and/or petrochemical environments
  • Electrical and controls knowledge
  • Profibus knowledge
  • UKAS knowledge
