This position is ideally suited to a graduate or early-career professional looking to build a long-term career within KYC, Anti-Money Laundering, financial crime prevention and regulatory compliance.
Working alongside experienced compliance, onboarding and financial crime professionals, you will help ensure new and existing clients meet the firm's regulatory and internal requirements before business relationships are established or continued. This is far more than an administrative onboarding position. You will gain exposure to the processes financial institutions use to understand who their clients are, establish ownership and control structures, assess financial crime risk and identify circumstances requiring further investigation or escalation.
You will work with a variety of client profiles and gradually develop experience across Customer Due Diligence, Enhanced Due Diligence, sanctions screening, PEP identification, adverse media, beneficial ownership and source of funds/source of wealth. For someone looking to establish themselves within financial services compliance, this provides an excellent foundation from which to develop.
The Role
As a KYC & AML Client Onboarding Analyst, you will support the onboarding of new clients while also assisting with ongoing reviews of existing relationships. You will gather and assess information, conduct screening and due diligence checks and work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure client files meet the required standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting end-to-end KYC and client onboarding processes
- Conducting Customer Due Diligence (CDD) checks
- Assisting with Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) for higher-risk relationships
- Reviewing identification and verification documentation
- Understanding corporate ownership structures and identifying Ultimate Beneficial Owners (UBOs)
- Conducting sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening
- Reviewing potential screening matches and escalating concerns appropriately
- Assisting with source of funds and source of wealth reviews where required
- Completing risk assessments and ensuring appropriate records are maintained
- Supporting periodic and event-driven KYC reviews
- Identifying missing, inconsistent or potentially higher-risk information within client files
- Liaising with clients and internal teams to obtain outstanding documentation
- Maintaining accurate information across KYC and client onboarding systems
- Escalating potential AML, sanctions or financial crime concerns to senior compliance colleagues
- Supporting the firm's wider AML and financial crime control framework
Who We Are Looking For
We are particularly interested in ambitious graduates and early-career professionals who want to establish themselves within financial services. You do not need years of banking experience. The firm is looking for candidates who demonstrate strong analytical ability, attention to detail and a genuine interest in compliance and financial crime prevention.
You should ideally have:
- A degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Law, Criminology or another relevant discipline
- A strong interest in KYC, AML, compliance or financial crime
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- The confidence to question information that appears incomplete or inconsistent
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Confidence working with systems, databases and documentation
- Previous exposure to KYC, AML, CDD, EDD, sanctions, compliance or financial services through employment, internships, placements or relevant training would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Salary, Bonus & Benefits
£45,000 - £50,000 starting salary, depending on experience and background. The wider package may include:
