Pure Staff are currently recruiting for a Machine Operator to join our client based in Loughborough. Our client has over 40 years of experience designing, developing, and manufacturing condiments and sauces for a wide range of market sectors. Working closely with leading businesses across transport, retail, and food service industries, they have built a strong reputation for quality and innovation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Machine Operator to join a well-established food production business. Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing production machinery efficiently, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring production targets are achieved.
Your Role
- Setting up machinery ready for production runs and ensuring work areas are clean and prepared
- Operating and adjusting machine settings to meet production requirements
- Ensuring adequate supplies of labels, packaging, sauces, and raw materials are available
- Performing product quality checks, including weight, taste, packaging integrity, metal detection, and date code verification
- Identifying and reporting machine faults and assisting with troubleshooting activities
- Carrying out routine maintenance tasks, cleaning, lubrication, and machine strip-downs after production runs
- Following all health, safety, food hygiene, and company procedures
- Working closely with Production Supervisors, Technical Support, and production teams
- Training and mentoring less experienced operators when required
- Completing all production, quality, and maintenance paperwork accurately
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the production facility
- Participating in taste panels and maintaining company quality standards
Requirements
Essential- Previous experience in a Machine Operator, Machine Operator, or similar production role
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Good mathematical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong technical understanding of machinery operation and basic maintenance
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to identify faults quickly
- Good communication skills
- Team-oriented approach with a positive attitude
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and food hygiene standards
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and hard-working
