An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health & Safety Co-Ordinator to join a growing organisation and play a key role in driving a positive health and safety culture across multiple sites. This is a hands-on, field-based position where you will provide professional health and safety leadership, advice and support to management teams and employees across the organisation.
The Role
- Improving health and safety performance through the development and implementation of effective management systems, including ISO 45001, while ensuring compliance with current legislation and industry best practice.
- Leading and overseeing a health and safety change programme across the organisation.
- Coaching and supporting managers and key stakeholders to develop their health and safety knowledge and capabilities.
- Reviewing, developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures.
- Monitoring changes to health and safety legislation and ensuring ongoing legal compliance.
- Working closely with Site Managers and departments to ensure compliance requirements are properly controlled, documented and maintained.
- Developing a culture of continuous improvement across health and safety.
- Ensuring robust risk assessment and incident management systems are in place and followed.
- Supporting HR and line managers with individual risk assessments and Safe Working Procedures.
- Carrying out and overseeing scheduled health and safety audits.
- Developing action plans with clear SMART objectives to address identified issues.
- Identifying and coordinating appropriate health and safety training.
- Working with internal and external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, local authorities and enforcement agencies.
About You
- A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in a similar health and safety role.
- IOSH Level 2 qualification.
- Strong knowledge of general occupational health and safety legislation and guidelines.
- Experience in developing and administering health and safety policies.
- Knowledge or experience of ISO 45001 management systems.
- Strong risk assessment, auditing and incident management experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities.
- The ability to prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities.
- A commercially minded and detail-focused approach.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, particularly within a field-based environment.
