The Opportunity
Our client is a well-established and growing manufacturing and distribution business based in Leeds. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Warehouse Operative to join their busy day-shift operation. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business offering good working conditions, training, development and genuine long-term stability.
The role will include warehouse duties alongside learning to operate specialist saw machinery used to cut materials to customer specifications. Previous saw experience is not essential as full training can be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Picking customer orders accurately from warehouse stock
- Operating saw machinery and following cutting schedules
- Cutting and preparing materials to customer specifications
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Moving and storing materials safely
- Operating Reach and Counterbalance Forklift Trucks
- Carrying out stock checks
- Reporting stock discrepancies or damage
- Completing quality checks
- Supporting general warehouse operations
- Following all Health & Safety procedures
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
What We're Looking For
- Previous warehouse experience
- Reach and Counterbalance FLT experience
- Current forklift licences preferred, although experienced operators whose licences require refreshing will also be considered
- Comfortable with physical warehouse work and manual handling
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Good attention to detail
- Able to work accurately to customer specifications
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Previous experience operating cutting saws or similar machinery would be useful but is not essential
