Our client is one of the UK's leading distributors of thermoplastic sheet, rod and tubing, supplying customers throughout the fabrication, engineering and signage industries. Backed by a globally recognised manufacturer of acrylic products, the business has built an excellent reputation for quality, service and reliability and offers a stable working environment with low staff turnover.
Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Warehouse Operative to join the nightshift team at their Darwen distribution centre.
The Role
- Receiving and unloading deliveries
- Picking, packing and loading customer orders accurately
- Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently
- Moving and storing stock within the warehouse
- Carrying out stock checks and reporting discrepancies
- Completing quality checks on incoming and outgoing goods
- Ensuring materials are stored safely and in the correct locations
- Maintaining high housekeeping standards
- Following all company Health & Safety procedures
- Supporting the wider warehouse team to ensure orders are dispatched on time
What We're Looking For
- Counterbalance FLT experience is essential
- Previous experience within a busy warehouse or distribution environment
- Confident and safe forklift operation
- Good understanding of warehouse Health & Safety
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable and hardworking approach
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable with manual handling and physical warehouse work
- Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
- Experience operating Schelling saws or CNC cutting machinery would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
