Emeya Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager to join a high-performing project delivery team working on major Data Centre and Critical Environment projects in London. This opportunity is ideally suited to an individual who enjoys taking ownership of MEP delivery from pre-construction through commissioning and handover, while collaborating with project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and clients to achieve successful project outcomes.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the delivery of Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health services across multiple projects, ensuring safety, quality, programme, commercial, and technical objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of MEP systems from design review and procurement through installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Support tender activities by reviewing M&E packages, identifying risks and opportunities, and assisting in the selection of suitable subcontractors and specialist partners.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of M&E subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Act as the senior technical point of contact for resolving complex MEP issues.
  • Promote a strong safety-first culture and ensure all activities are carried out in line with project and organisational safety requirements.
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure quality standards and compliance requirements are maintained.
  • Build, mentor, and develop MEP teams, creating a collaborative and high-performing working environment.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project teams throughout project delivery.
  • Review design information and ensure installations meet client requirements, project specifications, and industry standards.
  • Manage relationships with consultants, utility providers, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
  • Support commercial teams with technical reviews, change management, and assessment of variations.
  • Attend project meetings and provide leadership where senior technical input is required.
  • Monitor installation progress and drive timely resolution of technical challenges.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, demonstration, and final handover activities.
  • Ensure all MEP works are delivered in accordance with relevant regulations, standards, and project requirements.

Candidate Profile

  • Degree, diploma, or recognised qualification in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Alternatively, a qualified Mechanical or Electrical trade background with significant project delivery experience.
  • Minimum 10 years experience within the construction industry.
  • At least 5 years experience in an MEP Coordination, Technical Services, or Project Leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of building services design, installation, commissioning, and handover processes.
  • Experience delivering Data Centre, Critical Environment, Life Sciences, Industrial, or other technically complex projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and build strong working relationships across project stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently.
  • Results-driven with a strong commitment to quality and successful project delivery.
