Your new company Hays Education are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-regarded independent school in Lewisham to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable History and Geography Teacher.

The successful candidate will be able to teach both History and Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the ability to teach at Key Stage 5 considered advantageous.

Your new role As a History and Geography Teacher, you will: Deliver engaging and challenging History and Geography lessons across KS3 and KS4.
Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that promote excellent progress and attainment.
Encourage students to develop analytical, investigative and evaluative skills.
Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
Monitor, assess and track student progress effectively.
Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
Participate fully in the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and educational visits.
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to support student achievement.
What you'll need to succeed The successful applicant will have: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching both History and Geography within a secondary school setting.
Strong subject knowledge across the humanities curriculum.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
A commitment to high academic standards and student wellbeing.
The ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities.
A willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
