Shift Electrician (2 Positions)
Linford, SS17 Start Date: ASAP Permanent | 42 hours Excellent Salary incl. Shift Allowance + Bonus + Benefits
Overview We are seeking two experienced Shift Electricians to join the engineering team at Tarmac's Linford site on an ongoing contract. This is a hands-on maintenance role within a busy manufacturing environment, supporting the safe and efficient operation of plant and production equipment.
Shift Pattern Employees work a rotating shift pattern consisting of blocks of day shifts and night shifts followed by multiple rest days, this includes weekends:
Night Shift (18:00pm – 06:00am)
Day Shift (06:00am – 18:00pm)
Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and production machinery
Diagnose faults and repair electrical systems and equipment
Maintain and replace components including motors, inverter drives, contactors, and control systems
Ensure all work is completed in line with site safety and statutory standards
Respond to breakdowns and planned maintenance across the site
Work both independently and as part of the wider engineering team
Requirements Recognised Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or production environments
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Experience with motors, drives, and automation control systems
17th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulation s (or equivalent)
Basic IT skills and ability to use maintenance systems
Desirable Experience in heavy industrial, aggregates, or continuous process environments
PLC experience (Siemens S5 / S7)
Shift-based maintenance experience
