Morela is proud to be supporting a specialist AIOps and service management consultancy on a exclusive basis with a hands-on ServiceNow ITOM contract, with Event Management at the centre of it.
This is a delivery role with a consulting front end. You will be in the room with the client running workshops and shaping the design, then back at the keyboard building what you designed. Both halves matter, and candidates who only do one of them are not what this client needs.
WHAT THE ROLE IS REALLY ABOUT
Event Management first. Designing and implementing ServiceNow Event Management: event ingestion, alert rules, correlation and de-duplication, alert aggregation, and turning raw event noise into actionable, prioritised alerts that operations teams actually trust.
Integrations. Bringing monitoring estates into ServiceNow. Splunk and AppDynamics are the key sources here, so hands-on experience integrating either or both into ServiceNow Event Management is what will separate candidates.
Service context. Working with CMDB, Discovery and Service Mapping so alerts map to real services and impact, rather than sitting as orphaned events with nowhere to go.
Client workshops. Running requirement-gathering and design workshops with client stakeholders, translating operational pain into a technical design and taking people with you through the decisions.
Hands-on. This is not an oversight or architecture-only position. You will be configuring, scripting and building.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Proven delivery experience as a ServiceNow ITOM consultant, with Event Management as a genuine specialism rather than something you have touched in passing.
Hands-on integration experience with Splunk and AppDynamics as event sources feeding ServiceNow.
Strong working knowledge of the wider ITOM suite: CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, MID Servers and event connectors.
Confidence running client workshops. You need to be able to hold a room of operational stakeholders, ask the right questions and leave with a design everyone has bought into.
Genuinely hands-on technical ability, comfortable configuring and scripting in the platform yourself.
Consultancy or systems integrator background, and the client-facing judgement that comes with it.
WHAT WOULD HELP
Other monitoring and observability tooling feeding into Event Management: SolarWinds, Dynatrace, Datadog, Zabbix, Nagios, SCOM or similar.
ServiceNow Health Log Analytics, Predictive AIOps, Service Operations Workspace, or ITOM Visibility.
ServiceNow certifications, particularly CIS-Event Management, CIS-Discovery or CIS-Service Mapping.
Broader AIOps and event correlation platform exposure, and experience in a regulated or high-availability environment.
ITIL-aligned service operations experience, and the ability to write documentation and handover material a client can actually use.
CONTRACT TERMS
Six-month initial contract with a strong view to extend. The client is building a longer-term delivery relationship rather than filling a gap.
Competitive day rate, negotiable depending on experience. Tell us your rate and we will have an honest conversation about it.
