We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Transport Planner to join a growing independent transport consultancy in London. The team is continuing to expand its portfolio of development planning projects, providing an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of projects, work closely with clients and local authorities, and develop their career within a specialist consultancy.
The initial focus will be on development-led transport planning, supporting projects from early movement strategies and masterplanning through to planning and reserved matters applications.
The Role
- Preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and accessibility assessments.
- Developing transport and movement strategies for residential, mixed-use and strategic development sites.
- Undertaking trip generation, distribution and junction capacity assessments.
- Using software such as TRICS, TEMPro and Junctions / ARCADY / PICADY.
- Supporting initial highway design work, including AutoCAD and swept path analysis.
- Liaising directly with clients, local authorities and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Attending stakeholder meetings, consultations and public exhibitions.
- Managing projects and workstreams through to successful delivery.
- Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the team.
What We're Looking For
- Experience within development planning / transport consultancy.
- Strong experience producing Transport Assessments, Statements and Travel Plans.
- Good understanding of TRICS, TEMPro and Junctions software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence dealing with clients, local authorities and other stakeholders.
- Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or a related discipline.
- Professional development underway, such as TPS PDS, or an ambition to work towards chartership.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, LinSig, GIS or microsimulation would be beneficial.
