We are committed to hiring the best, most talented people and empowering them to thrive, grow meaningful careers and to find a place where they belong.

We're looking for a Senior Interior Designer to join JLL Design's London studio and help lead the next wave of workplace projects for some of the world's most recognisable occupiers. You'll be part of a fast-growing, consultancy-led team delivering commercial workplace interiors from concept through to completion - working on high-profile, high-complexity projects that demand real design ambition and technical rigour.

This is a hands-on, client-facing role for someone who wants to lead, not just contribute. You'll take real ownership of projects, mentor designers coming up behind you, and help shape how our studio delivers workplace design across London and beyond.

The Role

As a Senior Interior Designer, you'll lead workplace projects from early concept through to site delivery, working closely with clients, consultants and multidisciplinary teams to bring ambitious commercial interiors to life. You'll be trusted with real responsibility from day one - leading client conversations, shaping design proposals, and guiding junior designers through their own development.

You'll work across a portfolio of consultancy-led projects for major corporate occupiers, giving you exposure to the kind of scale, pace and client sophistication that comes with delivering for blue-chip brands in one of the world's most competitive design markets.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Design & Delivery
    • Lead workplace interior projects from concept design through to completion, including tender, construction and site delivery stages.
    • Develop and coordinate design solutions that are creative, technically robust and commercially sound.
    • Develop design proposals alongside senior team members - concept ideas, layouts, finishes, materials and furniture for presentation to clients.
    • Maintain design intent through every project stage, including technical development and construction support.
    • Ensure design packages, drawings, schedules and documentation are produced to a consistently high standard.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
    • Collect client briefs and prepare project briefing documentation.
    • Lead project communications, workshops and presentations across all project stages, including to senior client stakeholders.
    • Coordinate consultants, specialists and stakeholders to keep projects moving and objectives on track.
    • Build strong, collaborative relationships with project managers and delivery teams to ensure seamless execution.
    • Support a smooth handover of completed projects to clients.
  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Mentor and support junior designers, sharing knowledge and encouraging their professional development.
    • Provide design guidance and technical support to team members throughout project delivery.
    • Contribute to continuous improvement and the sharing of best practice across the studio.
    • Attend and lead client presentations and project meetings as appropriate.
  • Collaboration Across JLL
    • Collaborate with colleagues across Workplace Consultancy, Sustainability, Project Management, Leasing Advisory and other JLL service lines to deliver fully integrated client solutions.
    • Identify opportunities for additional services within existing client accounts, supporting the growth of long-term client relationships.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience
    • Substantial experience delivering commercial workplace interiors within a London design studio, consultancy or architecture practice. London project experience is essential for this role.
    • A track record of leading workplace interior projects from concept through to completion, including tender, construction and site delivery.
    • Experience delivering projects for corporate occupiers, ideally across sectors such as financial services, legal, technology or professional services.
    • Experience running workplace visioning sessions and presenting design recommendations to senior client stakeholders, including C-suite audiences.
    • Experience mentoring and developing junior designers.
    • Confidence managing multidisciplinary consultant teams and technical specialists day to day.
  • Knowledge
    • Strong grounding in corporate workplace design principles and evolving occupier trends.
    • Workplace strategy and employee experience fundamentals, with an understanding of hybrid working models.
    • Technical detailing and construction methodologies for workplace environments, including UK Building Regulations.
    • Confident use of Revit and BIM coordination processes across RIBA Stages 2-5.
    • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks relevant to interiors (BREEAM, SKA, WELL, Fitwel).
    • An eye for designing for inclusivity, accessibility and neurodiversity in the workplace.
  • Skills
    • Excellent conceptual design skills, with the ability to translate ideas into thoughtful, effective solutions.
    • Strong technical design development and detailing expertise.
    • Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex design ideas into clear, compelling material for clients.
    • The ability to balance creativity with technical and commercial requirements.
    • Confidence to challenge and shape client briefs in pursuit of design excellence.
    • Advanced Revit for documentation and coordination, plus Adobe Creative Suite for presentation.
    • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and consultants at once.
    • Comfortable using AI tools (e.g. Copilot, ChatGPT/Claude, generative image tools) to speed up early concept exploration, mood-boarding and design iteration.
    • Uses AI to streamline day-to-day communication, drafting client updates, meeting minutes, presentations and reports so more time goes into design thinking, not admin.
    • Curious and adaptable about new digital workflows, and happy to bring that thinking into a growing studio.
