We are seeking a talented Senior Womenswear Designer to join a friendly and successful, well-established fashion business.
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and trend-driven designer with a strong elevated womenswear jersey handwriting. You will have a refined, modern and feminine design aesthetic, with the ability to create fashion-forward yet commercially successful collections.
This role does offer hybrid working of 2-3 days a week in the office.
Main Responsibilities Will Include:
Designing and developing commercially successful elevated womenswear jersey collections, alongside nightwear and loungewear.
Creating trend-led, contemporary product with a strong focus on silhouette, styling, fabric, print and detail.
Researching and interpreting global fashion trends, identifying key colours, fabrics and product opportunities relevant to the target customer.
Creating seasonal mood boards, trend presentations, CADs and detailed technical packs.
Bringing fresh ideas and a strong fashion perspective to each season's collections.
Working closely with customers, product development teams and overseas suppliers throughout the design and development process.
Presenting seasonal collections, trend direction and new product ideas confidently to internal teams and retail customers.
Sourcing fabrics, prints, graphics and trims to support the development of elevated and commercially relevant ranges.
Supporting the product development process from initial concept through to sample approval and production.
Building strong relationships with customers and suppliers to ensure the successful delivery of each collection.
Person Specification:
Previous experience as a Womenswear Designer or Senior Designer, ideally with a strong focus on jersey.
A portfolio demonstrating an elevated, modern and fashion-forward womenswear handwriting.
Experience designing contemporary womenswear jersey, with exposure to loungewear or nightwear also advantageous.
Strong trend forecasting and market analysis skills, with a genuine passion for womenswear fashion.
The ability to interpret catwalk, social and wider market trends and translate them into commercially successful product.
A strong understanding of fabric, fit, silhouette and styling, with an eye for detail.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills.
