A leading insurance organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Bureau Messaging Integration Architect to shape and drive integration architecture across underwriting, claims, delegated authority, finance, and operational data flows. This is a high-profile position that will play a critical role in modernising and governing integrations across London Market and Lloyd's ecosystems.
Working closely with business and technology stakeholders, you will define target-state architecture, establish integration standards, and deliver scalable, secure, and resilient solutions that support strategic change programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain integration architecture for bureau messaging and external market connectivity.
- Design end-to-end integration solutions across underwriting, claims, finance, delegated authority, and reporting processes.
- Establish and govern integration standards, patterns, and architectural principles.
- Provide architectural leadership and design assurance across multiple projects and programmes.
- Support integrations with London Market platforms, Lloyd's services, brokers, coverholders, bureaus, and third-party providers.
- Ensure effective message routing, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and exception management.
- Embed security, resilience, governance, and operational support requirements into all solution designs.
- Partner with business, delivery, security, data, and vendor teams to deliver practical and scalable architecture solutions.
- Drive simplification initiatives, improve reuse, and reduce technical debt across the integration landscape.
Skills & Experience
You'll bring a strong blend of insurance domain expertise and technical architecture experience, including:
- 8+ years' experience in Integration Architecture or Solution Architecture.
- Extensive experience within the London Market, Lloyd's, or Specialty Insurance sector.
- Proven track record designing integrations between insurance platforms and external market participants.
- Strong understanding of API-led, event-driven, message-based, batch, and file-based integration patterns.
- Experience with data mapping, transformation, validation, and reconciliation processes.
- Knowledge of integration security, resilience, and governance best practices.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience with ACORD standards, London Market messaging, or bordereaux processes.
- Exposure to delegated authority and Lloyd's ecosystem platforms.
- Hands-on knowledge of Azure Integration Services, MuleSoft, Boomi, IBM MQ, Kafka, REST/SOAP, XML, JSON, and managed file transfer technologies.
- Understanding of cloud and hybrid integration architecture.
- TOGAF or similar architecture framework knowledge desirable.
