On behalf of Deutsche Bank, we are looking for a QA Internal Auditor for a 30-42 day contract based remotely within the UK.
Job description - the role
We are seeking an experienced Internal Audit professional to support the quality assurance and review of Internal Audit activities. This opportunity is ideal for a candidate with extensive Internal Audit experience who can independently assess the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of audit work performed by others. The successful candidate will bring strong audit methodology knowledge, a detailed understanding of quality assurance standards, and experience validating audit findings and reviewing completed audit files. The role requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to provide constructive challenge to ensure audit work meets professional and organisational standards.
What you'll do:
- Perform independent validation of audit findings and recommendations.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of completed audits.
- Assess the appropriateness of audit conclusions and supporting evidence.
- Ensure audit work complies with Internal Audit methodology, standards, and quality requirements.
- Identify inconsistencies, gaps, or areas requiring enhancement before final issuance.
- Provide objective feedback and recommendations to audit teams.
- Review completed audit files and workpapers.
- Assess the quality and completeness of audit documentation.
- Evaluate whether audit testing and conclusions are adequately supported.
- Ensure audit files meet internal quality standards and regulatory expectations.
- Highlight areas for improvement and promote best practice across audit teams.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Internal Audit function.
The skills you'll need:
- Significant experience within Internal Audit.
- Strong understanding of Internal Audit methodologies, standards, and governance frameworks.
- Proven background in Audit Quality Assurance (QA) or audit review activities.
- Experience reviewing audits conducted by other auditors.
- Ability to assess the quality and effectiveness of audit planning, testing, evidence, and reporting.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
