A newly created role for a Group Tax Manager for either 3-4 days / weeks has been created for the first time in this highly respected global business where you will manage complex direct and indirect tax, and transfer pricing matters across multiple jurisdictions. This is an exciting time to join the business as they undergo a wider finance transformation. You will have ownership for creating a tax strategy ensure compliance is met across direct and indirect taxes, and partner with the business to proactively identify opportunities to optimise efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
Design and implement tax strategy for the Group globally and establish a tax risk framework
Manage the relationship with tax authorities and provide commercially sound advice to the business on strategic projects such as acquisitions, disposals and restructurings
Ownership of indirect tax compliance including one direct report. Advising on cross border transactions and movement of goods
Manage direct tax compliance (currently via third party advisors), ensure deadlines are met and ensure the outsourced process is working well for the business and delivering value for money and optimal business support
You will have strong knowledge of direct and indirect tax across multiple territories gained from working in-house. As this is a new role, you will need to have a hands-on approach to assess priorities and understand current processes as well as implementing solutions moving forward.
