Operations Support Technician C£44,000 Somerset MC Technical Recruitment is currently looking to recruit a Operations Support Technician to join a modern Energy from Waste facility in Somerset.
This role will involve supporting the operations team to maximise plant performance and availability, ensuring safe and efficient operation of the facility, and providing operational cover across the site when required.
As a Operations Support Technician, you will be responsible for: Supporting the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the Energy from Waste plant to maximise plant availability and performance.
Providing operational cover for shift teams and day operations during periods of absence, annual leave and training.
Acting as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP), managing the site's Safe Systems of Work and issuing permits where required.
Supervising contractors and ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures.
Coordinating and completing Operations Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities and supporting plant shutdowns.
Monitoring plant performance, carrying out routine inspections and assisting with front-line maintenance activities.
Other duties as required To be considered for this role you should have: Experience working within Energy from Waste, power generation, process manufacturing or a similar heavy industrial environment.
Previous experience operating or supporting continuous process plant.
Experience working within Safe Systems of Work and Permit to Work environments.
Engineering qualification such as ONC/HNC or equivalent.
IOSH, NEBOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification.
Senior Authorised Person (SAP) experience or the ability to work towards SAP status.
Experience supervising contractors or coordinating operational activities.
