An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join a fast-growing and well-backed M&E contractor delivering projects across the commercial, heritage, public sector, and leisure sectors.
The business forms part of a wider group that includes an established principal contractor, healthcare fit-out specialist, and facilities management division, providing a strong platform for growth, repeat business, and internal project opportunities.
Despite being a relatively young M&E contractor, the company has established an excellent reputation through its experienced leadership team, strong financial backing, and commitment to delivering high-quality projects. With an increasing pipeline of secured work, they are now looking to strengthen their senior delivery team with the appointment of a Mechanical Contracts Manager.
The Role
You will take responsibility for overseeing the successful delivery of multiple mechanical building services projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover. Working closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, clients, consultants, and subcontractors, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager looking to progress into a Contracts Manager position or an established Mechanical Contracts Manager seeking a role within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of multiple mechanical building services projects simultaneously
- Provide leadership and support to Project Managers, Site Managers, and delivery teams
- Manage technical submissions, RFIs, coordination drawings, and design development
- Oversee subcontractor performance, procurement, and programme management
- Monitor commercial performance, variations, and project profitability
- Ensure projects are delivered in line with programme, budget, and quality expectations
- Manage commissioning, testing, and project handovers
- Review O&M manuals and ensure all project documentation is completed
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures throughout project delivery
Experience & Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience within Mechanical Building Services
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager or Senior Mechanical Project Manager
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building services, including HVAC, pipework, plumbing, ventilation, air conditioning, and BMS
- Experience delivering projects from pre-construction through to completion
- Strong commercial awareness and programme management experience
- Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 5, HNC, or equivalent in Building Services or Construction Management
- CSCS Black Manager Card
- SMSTS
- Full UK Driving Licence
