Rate/Salary:
- Master 200 CoC: £295 per day during 6-month probation, increasing by £8 per day after successful completion of probation.
- Master 500 CoC or Above: £315 per day plus £20 per day subsistence allowance, with an increase after successful completion of the 6-month probation period.

HSB Technical's client is a well-established operator within the offshore wind industry and is looking to recruit three Masters for their fleet of modern Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs). This is a permanent opportunity working a 3 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation, operating from various UK ports supporting offshore wind farm operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Master (CTV) will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Taking full command and responsibility for the safe operation of the vessel.
- Safely transporting technicians, contractors and equipment to and from offshore wind farms.
- Navigating the vessel in accordance with COLREGS, MCA regulations and the Company's Safety Management System (SMS).
- Leading, managing and mentoring onboard crew.
- Carrying out safe vessel approaches and personnel transfers to offshore structures.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory, flag state and class requirements.
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Completing passage planning, voyage documentation and vessel reports.
- Conducting toolbox talks and daily safety briefings.
- Overseeing planned maintenance activities onboard.
- Monitoring propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery and vessel equipment.
- Liaising with marine coordinators, clients and offshore control centres.
- Participating in emergency drills and exercises.
- Reporting defects and coordinating maintenance requirements.
- Maintaining vessel cleanliness and presentation.
- Promoting a strong safety culture onboard.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- UK MCA Master 200GT (Near Coastal) Certificate of Competency or higher.
- Previous experience as Master or Skipper onboard Crew Transfer Vessels, Workboats or similar commercial vessels.
- Valid STCW certification.
- Valid ENG1 Medical Certificate.
- GMDSS General Operators Certificate (GOC).
- Strong vessel handling and navigation skills.
- Experience operating in offshore or challenging weather conditions.
- Good understanding of marine diesel propulsion systems.
- Knowledge of planned maintenance systems.
- Excellent leadership and crew management abilities.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Valid Passport.
Desirable Experience:
- Master 500GT or above.
- Previous offshore wind industry experience.
- Dynamic Positioning (DP) Awareness or experience.
- HELM Operational or Management.
- Human Element, Leadership & Management.
- GWO Offshore Wind training.
