The German speaking Business Development Manager role identifies, engages, and establishes commercial relationships with Marketplace prospects and future merchants, aggregators, partners, and strategic key accounts, which will onboard on to the Kingfisher banner marketplaces. The role will be key to drive the growth acceleration of each of our local banners.
This role sits within our Marketplace Group team and the candidate will need to have a strong sales appetite with commercial sense and vision. German market knowledge and language is a must for the role. The position can be based from any of our locations.
Manage the end-to-end sales cycle for German merchants to come onboard the Kingfisher Marketplaces (B&Q, Bricot Depot Iberia, Castorama Poland, Castorama France). You will be responsible to establish a clear strategy for the recruitment of these merchants. Thereafter, you'll present to banner leaders and need to get their approvals. You will then have full ownership of the execution / implementation of this strategy.

- Lead Qualification and nurturing of cold prospects
- Identify potential high-quality leads (merchants) to join our banner marketplaces.
- Building a strong pipeline of German prospects within eligible categories for our banner marketplaces.
- Delivering and exceeding on reach out and contract signed targets through dedicated recruitment strategy
- Build a strong ecosystem enabling the recruitment of German merchants.
- Identify potential partners, engage negotiations and define the strategy which will allow to reach agreements.
- Develop strategic partnerships with agencies, aggregators specialized on the German market (for example: Feedonomics, Linnworks, chamber of commerce, etc.)
Experience within marketplace with strong proven record of exceeding sales performance, business development or account management as an individual contributor. Experience working with German-based brands / businesses / merchants. Fluent in German is crucial. Track record of successful internal and external relationship management. Ability to work cross-functionally and with a wide range of stakeholders with different skill sets and backgrounds. Exposure to working with global teams in other locations - i.e. Germany, France, Poland, Spain, Portugal, UK.
