Lead Validation & Verification Engineer- High Voltage Systems
We are seeking a Lead Validation & Verification Engineer with strong high voltage systems, embedded testing, verification, validation and qualification experience to join a leading engineering organisation based in Southeast London.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a global leader within advanced fibre-optic and subsea cable manufacturing.
The role offers significant technical ownership across system-level verification, HV testing, embedded validation, external qualification campaigns and test automation.
You will lead the design and execution of VVQ plans, develop test strategies and methodologies, coordinate with internal engineering teams and external test houses, and ensure products meet the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities for the Lead Validation & Verification Engineer based in
London:
Lead verification, validation and qualification activities for high voltage PFE systems, including system-level testing.
Develop VVQ plans, test strategies, qualification methodologies and validation processes for hardware and embedded control systems.
Define test architectures, software/hardware interfaces, test data flows and integration points for validation activities.
Plan and coordinate internal and external qualification campaigns including EMI/EMC, environmental and safety testing.
Develop and execute test plans, analyse results, produce technical reports and drive issue resolution.
Prototype, validate and commission new test setups, rigs, jigs, simulations and automated test solutions.
Debug complex hardware and software issues using oscilloscopes, logic analysers, HIL/SIL test benches and related tools.
Provide technical leadership to engineers and subcontractors, mentoring best practice across embedded testing, HV systems and qualification processes.
Work closely with hardware, software, mechanical, production, quality, supply chain and external regulatory/test partners.
Ensure compliance with relevant HV, safety, EMC and reliability standards.
Key Requirements for the Lead Validation & Verification Engineer based in
London:
Degree, HND or HNC in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience in embedded system testing, validation and qualification.
Hands-on experience with high voltage power systems, Power Feed Equipment, complex electronics or similar safety-critical systems.
Strong experience developing verification, validation and qualification plans, test reports and technical specifications.
Proven ability to lead system-level testing, product qualification and compliance activities.
Experience with test automation, HIL/SIL test benches, lab instrumentation and fault diagnostics.
Familiarity with standards such as IEC 62368, ETS 300 386, EN61000-4 and EN55022.
Experience working with external test houses or regulatory agencies such as UL or TUV would be beneficial.
