We're working with a leading public-facing organisation to recruit an experienced IT Product Manager to help shape, develop and deliver technology solutions across a diverse portfolio of operational and enterprise systems. This is a broad, strategic Product Management role working across Digital & Technology, Operations, Commercial, Finance and Procurement. You'll take ownership of technology products and solutions, helping define roadmaps, identify opportunities for improvement and ensure technology continues to meet both operational and business needs.
You'll work across a varied technology landscape, collaborating with internal teams, other Product Managers and external suppliers to develop scalable, commercially viable and operationally effective solutions. We're particularly interested in Product Managers who have worked within transport, logistics or other complex operational environments and understand how technology supports large-scale, customer-facing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and develop product strategies and roadmaps across a portfolio of IT and operational technology products
- Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to understand requirements, challenges and future priorities
- Identify opportunities to improve, modernise and consolidate existing technology solutions
- Coordinate with other Product Managers and technology teams to manage cross-product dependencies and priorities
- Work with external suppliers and technology partners to develop scalable and cost-effective solutions
- Support technology delivery across transformation programmes, mobilisations and other strategic initiatives
- Partner with Finance and Procurement to understand technology costs, commercial considerations and supplier arrangements
- Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to define requirements and develop technology solutions
- Ensure products and solutions meet operational, security, regulatory and contractual requirements
- Support the technology input into bids and tenders where required, ensuring proposed solutions are realistic, commercially viable and aligned with existing technology strategy
- Build strong relationships across Technology, Operations, Commercial and senior leadership teams
- Drive continuous improvement across products, processes and technology services
Requirements
- Proven experience as an IT Product Manager, Technology Product Manager or similar
- Strong understanding of technology products, platforms and their full lifecycle
- Experience developing and managing product strategies and roadmaps
- Experience working across enterprise systems, operational technology and/or integrated technology environments
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working across both technology and business teams
- Commercial awareness and experience working with third-party technology suppliers
- Experience delivering technology change within complex organisations
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple products, priorities and dependencies simultaneously
- Experience within transport, rail, logistics or another operationally complex/regulated environment would be highly advantageous
- Exposure to bids, tenders, mobilisations or franchise programmes would be beneficial but is not essential
