We're working with an established, data-driven business looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a small, high-impact data team. This is an opportunity for a hands-on technical specialist to take ownership of a critical data platform, improving existing infrastructure while building scalable foundations for the future.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex data engineering challenges, has strong opinions on best practice, and is comfortable working independently while partnering closely with business stakeholders.
What you'll be doing:
- Design, build and optimise end-to-end data pipelines into Google BigQuery
- Integrate data from CRM and digital marketing platforms, including HubSpot, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Microsoft Ads and LinkedIn Ads
- Improve the reliability, scalability and performance of existing data infrastructure
- Own data quality, monitoring, alerting, documentation and pipeline governance
- Reduce technical debt and establish engineering best practices that will support future growth
- Work closely with analytics, marketing and business stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, trusted and fit for reporting
- Make recommendations on architecture, tooling and implementation where appropriate, working within a pragmatic budget
What we're looking for:
- 8+ years of hands-on Data Engineering experience
- Strong expertise with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and BigQuery
- Proven experience building end-to-end batch data pipelines from scratch
- Experience integrating APIs from marketing and CRM platforms
- Strong understanding of data modelling, pipeline reliability and data quality
- Experience implementing monitoring, alerting and documentation standards
- Comfortable working as a senior individual contributor in a lean team
- Someone who enjoys owning solutions, challenging ideas and influencing technical direction
Nice to have:
- Experience working with GA4 data
- Exposure to Cloud Functions or other GCP services
- Understanding of digital marketing data and attribution models
