The planning, execution and communication of risk-based audit reviews of, operational, commercial compliance and reputational risk from a projects Health and Safety aspect
The provision of cost-effective recommendations to mitigate risk and control weaknesses identified during the review process.
Maintaining registers of agreed upon actions and following up with local management to ensure that agreed steps are taken to address risks identified.

Main responsibilities
Undertake Health and Safety auditing and inspections of Beck and Pollitzer working site (whether as Principal Contractor or contractor) client designated projects.
Identify health and safety risk and hazards and help put in place corrective actions as needed.
Report into the Health and Safety Management all findings and corrective actions to enable trends to be identified and development of campaigns for improvements to be implemented.
Play an effective role as part of the site-based Health & Safety team.
The site audits and inspections shall involve or lead to:
Regular reporting on site Health, Safety and Environmental standards.
The checking of compliance to policies, procedures and site rules and that they are being properly implemented.
Undertaking or assisting with accident, incident & near miss investigations, root cause analysis and close out.
Helping with the development of key performance indicators and trend analysis.
The undertaking of the RAMS review process.
Checking on contractor / pre-start & kick off meetings / documentation prior to them attending site and when on site activities are being carried out.
Helping with the forward planning of resource requirements.
Implementation of the Health and Safety Policy and the Health and Safety Management system.
Lead daily site auditing process and ensure compliance with auditing standards.
Document that the site managers weekly site audit and issue report detailing findings and countermeasures etc.
Help with regular updates to the UK manager on weekly & Monthly reports which include statistical and trend analysis.
Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) applicable legislation.
Be part of the advisory link with UK Health & Safety Manager, UK H&S Team, site CDM Managers and Project Managers and all other employees on matters relating to Health and Safety.
Assist with & implement a range of site-based Health & Safety events to promote good working practices and engagement where applicable.
Assist the UK divisions with compliance to the ISO 45001
Carry out internal audits in accordance with our ISO 45001 Standard management system.

Experience, knowledge and qualifications required
NVQ level 5 Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (desirable but not a must)
Qualified in occupational Health and Safety to at least NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent.
Ideally a min of 2-3 years of relevant experience with a view to learn more and develop
A good practical knowledge of Health and Safety.
A good working knowledge of site-based activities, hazards & risks
Able to use Microsoft Office to a good level including Excel, Power Point & Word
Knowledge of UK Legislation is a must
Must have either a mechanical or electrical background
Personal characteristics required Excellent written and verbal skills at technical and professional levels
Solution oriented.
Able to work at a consistent level under pressure and demanding deadlines
Able to work with others in various team environments and to be confident and assertive with people at all levels;
Excellent time management skills, and able to prioritise multiple tasks
A proactive and practical attitude to Health and Safety.
