A leading organisation within the aviation and defence sector is seeking a talented Financial Analyst to join its Finance team in Oxford. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional to play a key role in supporting financial reporting across major defence programmes and future bid campaigns. The successful candidate will work within a fast-paced, highly regulated environment, providing accurate financial information and ensuring compliance with key financial controls and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Processing and posting payroll journals
  • Managing fixed asset controls and monitoring asset registers
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
  • Managing intercompany invoicing activities
  • Supporting the statutory audit process
  • Producing and analysing foreign exchange (Forex) reporting
  • Performing month-end accounting and reporting activities
  • Supporting financial reporting for defence projects and programmes
  • Assisting with financial analysis and support for future business opportunities and bid campaigns

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong understanding of financial principles, controls, and reporting
  • Experience in payroll accounting, fixed asset management, invoicing, and foreign exchange reporting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong report writing and documentation capabilities
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively to tight deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Understanding of work package management and control
  • Knowledge of risk management principles
