About HMP Stocken
HMP Stocken is a Category C men's prison located near Oakham, Rutland. The site offers a stable working environment with a strong focus on safety, teamwork, and maintaining critical infrastructure. You'll receive a comprehensive induction, ongoing support, and access to the tools and materials needed to carry out your role effectively.
The Role
As a Maintenance Plumber, you'll be responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs across the site's plumbing and water systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine and reactive plumbing maintenance
- Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to plumbing systems and associated equipment
- Maintain and repair mains water supply systems
- Conduct inspections, water sampling, and compliance checks
- Identify and report life-expired equipment
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with statutory regulations
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Support the wider facilities management team as required

Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in plumbing maintenance
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience working within a commercial, industrial, facilities management, or similar environment
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Desirable
- Legionella awareness and water hygiene knowledge
- Experience working within regulated or secure environments
