We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Senior Data Scientist to join a high-profile technology organisation on an initial 6-month contract. This is a high-autonomy role focused on running existing business-as-usual analytics and data science across international markets, with responsibility for revenue visibility, regulatory reporting, data quality and maintaining a suite of production ML models.
The successful candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of existing processes and systems, working independently and delivering against tight deadlines with minimal hands-on support.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor revenue performance across international markets and investigate anomalies, providing early visibility of revenue movements.
- Support partner monitoring and escalations, including offer setup, recommender administration, click-report issues and partner ranking changes.
- Monitor email campaign performance, investigating anomalies, send failures, re-targeting opportunities and churn drivers.
- Support experimentation and A/B testing, including experiment monitoring, analysis and promotion decisions.
- Maintain data quality by investigating pipeline failures, tracking gaps and partner feed issues.
- Support data requests, customer/member queries and regulatory reporting, including DSAR/RTBF requests, complaint data and FCA regulatory returns.
- Monitor marketplace rankings and provide analytics support against tight, sometimes same-day deadlines.
- Represent analytics in business reviews and stakeholder meetings, translating technical findings into clear business recommendations.
Data Science
- Maintain and support an existing suite of production ML models, including scheduled refreshes, retraining and redeployment.
- Monitor model performance and drift, identifying and escalating issues where models require attention.
- Maintain data quality across model inputs and pipelines, troubleshooting feed and pipeline issues.
- Support partner ranking changes and credit-model compliance requirements.
- Ensure models, pipelines and reporting are fully documented and handed over to the permanent team at the end of the engagement.
Essential Skills & Experience
- 5+ years' experience across Data Science and Analytics, including experience running production models and BAU analytics.
- Strong experience taking ownership of existing BAU processes and delivering with minimal supervision.
- Strong SQL and Python or R skills.
- Comfortable working with existing codebases, data pipelines and production environments.
- Hands-on experience maintaining production ML models, including refreshing, retraining, monitoring and troubleshooting models.
- Strong understanding of model performance monitoring, model drift and data quality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Degree or advanced qualification in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or a similar subject, or equivalent professional experience.
- Background within technology, financial services or a data-driven organisation.
Desirable Experience
- Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI or similar to automate day-to-day workflows.
- Understanding of agentic AI workflows.
- Previous contract or consulting experience delivering BAU projects against fixed deadlines.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Business Development, Compliance, Engineering and Customer/Member Support teams.
- Experience working within regulated environments and supporting regulatory reporting.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist who enjoys hands-on ownership rather than purely project-based data science. You will take responsibility for keeping critical analytics, reporting and production models running across an international business while working closely with senior stakeholders.
