You will be working for a small part of one of the largest UK Government organisations - supporting them with an ongoing cross-Governmental Data project.
Hays are partnered with this organisation on an exclusive basis - meaning are working solely with the client to recruit for this position for them. Our client has been working on their Data strategy within the project and now require someone to help them with the next steps.
The contract on offer is going to be for 6 months
This role will be to work on a remote basis (with potential requirements to go on site occasionally if required)
Your new role
You will play a key role in establishing and operationalising the data workstream for the project in the interim. The role will focus on identification, acquisition, licensing, governance, and management of third-party datasets required to support investment decisions, project assessment, monitoring, reporting, and delivery of nature recovery outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Support the setup and mobilisation of the Data Licensing and Information Management workstream.
Develop operating procedures, governance processes and standards for acquiring and managing third-party data assets.
Create and maintain a strategic roadmap for data licensing requirements across the Fund.
Identify and manage environmental, biodiversity, natural capital, habitat, land-use and geospatial datasets.
Manage data licensing agreements through their full lifecycle.
Support procurement and contract negotiations for strategic datasets and information services.
Ensure compliance with licensing agreements, intellectual property rights and governance policies.
Produce reporting on licensed data assets, expenditure, utilisation, compliance and renewals.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience managing data licences, information service agreements or intellectual property rights.
Experience establishing governance, controls and operating models for data management.
Strong understanding of data governance and information stewardship.
Experience working with procurement, legal and supplier management functions.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and organisational skills.
