A company that specialise in electro-mechanical systems for the Automotive / EV industry is seeking to recruit a Cyber Security Software Engineer to work on a contract based in Surrey that is initially scheduled for 6 months

The Role

This position will involve implementation, integration and validation of security foundations.

This will include taking ownership of HSM integration, Secure Boot, Secure Diagnostics, and Secure Programming within AUTOSAR Classic.

Define and drive implementation patterns, develop reusable software IP, and ensure robust, scalable cybersecurity solutions.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security features across the software stack.

Experience

Essential

  • 5-10+ years in automotive embedded software development, of which 3+ years hands-on in embedded cybersecurity.
  • Deep AUTOSAR Classic experience with a leading configuration tool (Vector Da Vinci / MICROSAR preferred).
  • Proven hands-on integration of Infineon AURIX HSM (HSM firmware, host-side driver, key slots, secure services).
  • Practical implementation of Secure Boot on AURIX or comparable platform: chain of trust, measured boot, secure key storage.
  • Strong C (MISRA-C:2012), embedded programming, linker / memory layout, MPU, bootloader-to application transitions.
  • Working knowledge of UDS (ISO 14229-1) including Security Access (0x27), Authentication (0x29) and secure flashing (0x34 / 0x36 / 0x37) with signature verification.
  • Solid grasp of AUTOSAR Crypto Stack (CSM / Cry If / Crypto Driver), Key M.
  • Cryptography fundamentals: AES (CMAC / GCM), SHA-2/3, HMAC, RSA / ECC, ECDSA, key derivation.
  • Comfortable with debug / trace tooling and CAN tooling.
  • Working knowledge of ISO/SAE 21434 and Automotive SPICE (ASPICE). * Configuration management, issue tracking.
