The Role: At Envitia, we're looking for an AWS Cloud Engineer to join our consulting division and help design and deliver cutting-edge cloud solutions for clients in the national security sectors. In this role, you'll lead the end-to-end delivery of technical solutions, combining our in-house product suite with the latest commercial technologies to meet complex customer needs. You'll also contribute to the evolution of Envitia's internal capability, shaping innovative frameworks, methodologies, and concept demonstrators that drive our technical excellence. This is a great opportunity for someone with proven experience in national security environments who's ready to take ownership, influence change, and make a real impact.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Gather and analyse client requirements, translating them into tailored solutions.
  • Develop technical strategies and advisory artefacts to support organisational change.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of modern solution architectures across various technologies and platforms.
  • Collaborate with project managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation.
  • Provide technical leadership in solution reviews, ensuring compliance with client and regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to the design of cross-cutting managed services for Envitia and its clients.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and industry trends, assessing their potential market impact.
  • Ensure all solutions align with Envitia's architecture policies and standards.
  • Develop cost models, risk assessments, and business cases for proposed solutions.

Skills Required:

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture frameworks and cloud architecture solutions.
  • Experience in requirement elicitation, management, and translation into solution designs.
  • Expertise in AWS cloud platform, with AWS certifications preferred.
  • Knowledge of legacy and modern technology stacks.
  • Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures, microservices, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience integrating Azure and AWS native applications with COTS solutions.
  • Experience leading solution development in pre-sales, including proposal writing and client presentations.

Desirable:

  • Any AWS Professional, Associate or Speciality Certifications.
  • Architectural certifications including TOGAF, Zachman or ArchiMate.

Security Clearance Requirements: The successful candidate must hold a current DV security clearance with the ability to go through an enhanced level.

Location: It is anticipated the role will require up to 80% (4d/wk) onsite working at client location in Gloucester.
