Agriculture Technical Support Officer in London

The role involves supporting the delivery of agricultural projects and activities aimed at reducing agricultural pollution across the sector. You will work closely with the COAPR team, providing technical support to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and help prevent and minimise pollution and environmental damage.

You will play an active role in supporting field officers in the execution of their duties, ensuring that regulatory activity is effective, consistent, and proportionate. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to environmental protection efforts, working collaboratively within a team and independently as required.

As an organisation, we support flexible working. You will be contracted to the nearest NRW office to your home, and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed upon appointment. Any regular face-to-face meetings or training will be planned in advance.

About us: Agricultural pollution remains a significant challenge in Wales, contributing to serious environmental impacts including declining water quality and damaging fish kills. In response, the Welsh Government introduced the Control of Agricultural Pollution Regulations in 2021, aiming to reduce pollution from agricultural activities and protect the water environment. Natural Resources Wales (NRW) is responsible for delivering a programme of farm inspections across Wales to assess compliance with these regulations.

What you will do:

• Manage critical business systems for the teams.
• Manage document storage requirements to ensure compliance with current legislation.
• Establish and maintain systems to track compliance and enforcement performance.
• Manage all data access requests received and respond within agreed timescales.
• Support our response to complaints received.
• Work closely with other team members to deliver work objectives in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain databases for recording visit information and enforcement outcomes.
• Undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post.

Your qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills:

• Previous experience in an administration type role.
• Strong and effective self-management and organisational skills.
• Able to work well as part of a team.
• Excellent customer care skills.
• Prior experience of managing Business ICT systems.

Welsh Language level requirements: Essential: Level A1 - Entry level. Please note if you do not meet the A1 requirement, NRW offers a variety of learning options and staff support to help you meet these minimal requirements during your employment.

Additional Information: Successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS). Appointments are normally made within 4 to 8 weeks of the closing date. Natural Resources Wales is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position.
