Commissioning Engineer - ABB 800x A / AC800M (Offshore Rotation)
Location: Overseas Offshore Contract Length: Initial 12-month contract Rotation: 5 Weeks On / 5 Weeks Off Rate: £80-£90 per hour Working Hours: 12-hour days (including travel days)
Key Responsibilities
Commission, test and support ABB automation and control systems.
Program, configure and modify ABB AC800M controllers.
Work with ABB 800x A distributed control systems.
Support and maintain Safeguard legacy systems, including programming and modifications.
Carry out commissioning activities in accordance with project schedules and safety procedures.
Diagnose and resolve control system issues during commissioning and start-up.
Produce commissioning documentation and provide technical support throughout project delivery.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and operations teams to ensure successful project completion.
Essential Requirements
Proven commissioning experience within offshore or process industry environments.
Strong hands-on experience with ABB 800x A.
Experience programming ABB AC800M controllers.
Experience working with and programming Safeguard legacy systems.
Ability to troubleshoot complex automation and control systems.
Strong understanding of commissioning procedures and safe systems of work.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Experience
Previous offshore commissioning experience.
Experience on oil & gas, energy, or other process industry projects.
Relevant offshore certification (or willingness to obtain prior to mobilisation).
