Hays Education are working in partnership with a secondary school in Batley to recruit an experienced Data & Exams Manager to provide cover for a long-term sickness absence. This is a key role within the school, and the school are seeking someone with proven experience working as a Data & Exams Manager, Exams Officer, or similar school data management position. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of data systems, examinations administration and reporting across the school.
Whilst this position is initially expected to run from September until at least October half-term, there is potential for the role to become a longer-term opportunity.
About the Role
You will take responsibility for managing and maintaining the school's data and examinations functions, working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff and external examination bodies. Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing and maintaining student data and reporting systems.
- Coordinating the administration and delivery of internal and external examinations.
- Producing accurate data reports and analysis to support school improvement.
- Managing assessment data and performance tracking.
- Ensuring compliance with examination regulations and deadlines.
- Working collaboratively with school leaders to provide accurate and timely information.
Essential Requirements
Due to the specialist nature of this position, applicants must have previous experience working in a school Data & Exams role. You must have strong knowledge and practical experience of:
- SIMS
- SISRA
- Applicaa
- Exams Assist
- FFT
The school is looking for someone who can hit the ground running with minimal training and confidently manage the demands of a busy school environment.

- Previous experience as a Data & Exams Manager, Exams Officer or equivalent school-based role.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- A proactive and professional approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through Hays).
