Accountable Recruitment are partnering with a well-established and growing professional services business in Merseyside to recruit a Senior Finance Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business during a key period of growth and development.
Working closely with SLT, this is a highly varied role offering exposure across financial reporting, compliance, commercial finance and business partnering. You'll play an integral part in maintaining strong financial control, while also driving improvements and supporting the organisation's continued success - alongside managing a small finance team.
The Role
Reporting into the FD, you will take ownership of the day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, insight and control across the function. You'll be instrumental in providing meaningful financial information to support decision-making and business performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a small finance team
- Produce monthly management accounts, including insightful analysis
- Ensure financial records are accurate, with regular balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage cashflow and oversee debt, including resolving complex issues
- Support operational teams with billing processes and fee forecasting
- Review project performance, analysing profitability and future work pipelines
- Respond to financial queries relating to projects and contracts
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
- Support year-end processes and ensure compliance with statutory requirements
- Supervise and develop junior team members
- Drive continuous improvement through process enhancements and projects
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or QBE
- Experience in industry or a fast-paced commercial environment
- Strong grounding in accounting principles, VAT and financial controls
- Confident with Excel and finance systems (Sage advantageous)
- Highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing deadlines
- Strong attention to detail with the confidence to challenge where needed
- Effective communicator, comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels
