A well-established and growing organisation is seeking a qualified Management Accountant to join its finance team on an interim basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, producing insightful management information, and supporting operational decision-making.
Working closely with senior finance leaders, you will play a key role in the production of monthly accounts, forecasting, business planning, financial analysis, and performance reporting. The organisation offers a flexible hybrid working model with 2-3 days per week in the office and the remainder working remotely.
Key Responsibilities:- Preparation of monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other journals.
- Production of income and expenditure reports and ensuring integrity of the financial ledger.
- Assisting with annual budgets, reforecasts and longer-term business planning activities.
- Providing detailed financial analysis, identifying trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Investigating variances and producing meaningful commentary for budget holders and senior management.
- Monitoring and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Supporting the development of dashboards and management reporting tools.
- Assisting with financial modelling, forecasting and business case preparation.
- Producing ad-hoc financial analysis, costings and reports as required.
- Calculating and posting monthly accounting transactions.
- Supporting project teams with robust financial information and commercial insight.
- Assisting with recharge processes, invoicing and maintaining accurate financial records.
- Supporting the Financial Controller in delivering key finance objectives and reporting requirements.
To be successful in this role, you will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified. An experienced Management Accountant with strong month-end accounting expertise. Advanced in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs and financial analysis. Highly analytical with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial information. Comfortable influencing and collaborating with non-finance stakeholders. Able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines. Self-motivated, organised and capable of working both independently and as part of a wider finance team.
Key Experience:- Exposure to labour cost reporting, workforce planning or staff cost analysis.
- Experience supporting operational teams through business partnering and performance reporting.
