Accountable Recruitment is partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to recruit an experienced Financial Controller on a 12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover.
This is a key leadership position offering the opportunity to take ownership of financial control, reporting, month-end close activities and team leadership within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information while driving process improvement and supporting ongoing change initiatives.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading the month-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Reviewing and approving journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
Managing the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Producing insightful variance analysis and commentary for senior management.
Maintaining a strong financial control environment and ensuring audit readiness.
Acting as a key contact for external auditors and supporting year-end processes.
Supporting finance transformation and process improvement initiatives.
Ensuring the integrity of financial data across accounting systems.
Managing, mentoring and developing a finance team.
Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business to support informed decision-making.
The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong experience in financial control, financial accounting or management accounting.
You will have a proven track record of leading month-end processes, producing high-quality financial reporting and managing teams within a complex business environment.
You will possess excellent technical accounting knowledge, strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure while delivering to tight deadlines.
Experience of finance transformation, systems implementations or process improvement projects would be highly advantageous.
