Location: Liverpool, supporting the Northwest more broadly

Role Overview:

Attend sites to prepare comprehensive and accurate specifications and quotes for installation projects, ensuring all details are communicated to relevant stakeholders. The role involves providing support and guidance to engineers during projects and conducting quality inspections upon completion to ensure compliance. You will promote the importance of quality work and professional attitudes, fostering an environment that encourages employee development, good relations, team building, and adherence to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specification and Quoting: Prepare detailed and accurate specifications for installations following site visits, ensuring client needs are met within legislative boundaries.
  • Procurement: Order all necessary parts and subcontracted services for confirmed installations, ensuring timely availability and delivery.
  • Communication and Support: Relay installation details to all relevant parties, providing both on-site and off-site support and guidance to engineers to ensure compliance with business quotes.
  • Operational Management: Manage the day-to-day operations of operatives, providing technical support, encouragement, and training to ensure the completion of an agreed number of jobs per week.
  • Client Relations: Serve as a key contact for clients, assisting in developing relationships and resolving problematic jobs. Attend and facilitate the resolution of customer complaints, including site visits and providing technical overviews, ensuring professional representation of the company.
  • Quality and Professionalism: Promote the importance of quality work and professional attitudes, fostering an environment that supports employee development, good relations, team building, and quality standards.
  • Follow-Up: Address recalls after an engineer has attended a property more than twice, providing management with details of the work and suggestions for preventative measures or training needs.
  • Compliance: Ensure client contractual and specific requirements are met and, where possible, exceeded.
  • Communication: Convey company procedures and client requirements to operatives through daily contact and structured monthly Toolbox Talks.
  • Training and Support: Assist the Head of Region and Install Manager with training requirements and technical support for both existing engineers and new starters.
  • Quality and Safety Audits: Conduct quality checks and health and safety audits to a predetermined target volume, communicating outcomes and completing reports for client meetings.

Skills & Experience:

  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Heating and Ventilation or equivalent (essential)
  • Valid domestic and/or commercial gas qualifications. As a minimum, successful candidates must have the following: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CKR1 (essential)
  • Valid UK driving licence (essential)
  • Previous practical experience in heating system surveys or domestic installation projects (essential)
  • Solid understanding of gas safety regulations and industry standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
