Our client, a successful tech scale-up and cash generative SME, with a £10m turnover and employing 100 staff, is looking to double in size in the next five years under the guidance of its experienced, highly charismatic and driven Founder and Executive Team. Their B2C Health & Fitness platform provides individualised coaching plans that deliver tangible improvements in nutrition, exercise and lifestyle. This is supplemented by a physical product range incorporating branded protein powders, clothing and accessories.

They now seek to appoint a Head of Marketing to own the overall marketing strategy and roadmap across wholesale, trade, retail B2B, D2C, e-commerce and export.

Your specific responsibilities as Head of Marketing will include:

  • Driving traffic, customer acquisition and brand growth
  • Owning the strategy, budget and performance of the Marketing department
  • Translating business and commercial objectives into a clear, prioritised marketing plan
  • Identifying new channels, markets and opportunities to drive growth
  • Leading the paid media, content/social, email/CRM and brand functions
  • Holding the paid media and performance marketing team accountable for ROAS, CPA and customer acquisition targets
  • Reviewing and approving paid media strategy and budget allocation across Meta, Google, TikTok and other platforms
  • Owning brand positioning and ensuring consistency across all marketing channels and markets
  • Overseeing content and social strategy
  • Directing creative and content output
  • Owning the email and CRM marketing strategy, including lifecycle, retention and segmentation
  • Ensuring email and CRM activity is measured against open rates, click-through rates and revenue contribution
  • Directing integration of email/CRM activity with paid, content and e-commerce plans
  • Partnering closely with the Head of E-commerce to ensure marketing and website activity are fully aligned
  • Working with Sales to support wholesale, trade and retail B2B marketing
  • Coordinating with Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Distribution on product launches and promotional planning
  • Providing performance insights, forecasts and recommendations to senior leadership

As Head of Marketing you will need experience of:

  • Several years in a senior leadership or head-of-department role
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary marketing team (e.g. paid media, content/social, email/CRM, brand)
  • Owning and managing a marketing budget, with clear accountability for ROI
  • Both digital and offline marketing channels
  • E-commerce and D2C marketing
  • Fitness, health or lifestyle brands (preferable)
  • Working in a fast-growing or founder-led business (desirable)
