Are you an experienced CMMS Implementation Engineer, Asset Systems Engineer or Maintenance Systems Engineer looking for a high-impact fixed-term project? Our client is a growing renewable energy and process plant business seeking a CMMS Implementation Engineer to support the second phase of a major maintenance management systems rollout across its UK operational sites. This is a hybrid role combining home working, site visits and project collaboration. You will be responsible for asset verification, CMMS configuration, PPM development and engineering data management. The role requires UK travel and occasional overnight stays. Travel and accommodation expenses will be covered in line with company policy.

The CMMS Implementation Engineer Role

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will support the Phase 2 rollout of the company’s CMMS platform across existing operational assets. You will work closely with engineering, maintenance, operations, external contractors and software providers to ensure asset information, maintenance schedules and engineering records are accurate and ready for system rollout.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Verifying asset registers through SCADA reviews and physical site inspections
  • Confirming asset locations, descriptions, asset numbers and engineering information
  • Building and configuring assets within the CMMS template
  • Reviewing, editing and updating asset registers
  • Creating planned preventive maintenance schedules
  • Building PPM task lists and inspection frequencies
  • Ensuring maintenance schedules meet operational and compliance requirements
  • Generating QR codes for asset identification
  • Supporting mobile maintenance system integration
  • Checking consistency between physical assets, SCADA and CMMS records
  • Reviewing P&IDs, engineering drawings and technical documents
  • Amending and redlining engineering documentation
  • Liaising with site engineering and maintenance teams
  • Coordinating with software providers and external contractors
  • Providing project updates and progress reports
  • Maintaining accurate implementation records
  • Supporting ongoing CMMS optimisation and continuous improvement

What We’re Looking For

To be considered, you should have:

  • Experience using CMMS, CAFM or EAM systems
  • Experience with platforms such as ShireSystem, SAP PM, IBM Maximo or similar
  • Knowledge of asset management and preventive maintenance
  • Experience developing or maintaining asset registers
  • Experience creating PPM schedules and maintenance task lists
  • Ability to interpret P&IDs and engineering drawings
  • Strong Excel and engineering data management skills
  • Good organisational and project coordination skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management ability
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel regularly across UK sites
  • Availability to start immediately or at short notice

Desirable Experience

It would be beneficial to have:

  • Experience within renewable energy, utilities, manufacturing or process plant
  • Previous CMMS implementation or migration experience
  • Knowledge of SCADA systems
  • Experience working with industrial plant assets
  • HNC, HND, degree or equivalent engineering experience
  • Knowledge of QR-code asset tracking
  • Experience with mobile maintenance technology
