We are looking for an organised and detail-focused Purchasing Administrator / Co-ordinator to join a busy team in Leyland. You will be responsible for planning and managing the supply of materials, components and finished products, ensuring orders are placed, tracked and delivered on time to support production schedules and meet customer deadlines. This is a fast-paced role suited to someone who is highly organised, confident managing multiple orders and has excellent attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Raise and manage purchase orders for products, components and raw materials
  • Track and chase orders to ensure deliveries arrive on time
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
  • Manage orders from placement through to completion
  • Work closely with internal departments to coordinate deliveries
  • Lead daily production meetings
  • Book incoming products onto internal systems
  • Handle supplier queries and order confirmations
  • Create and maintain reports using Microsoft Excel
  • Support with general and ad hoc administrative duties

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • At least 2 years' experience working in a busy office environment
  • Strong IT skills and good knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong communication skills and a good command of written and spoken English
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and manage a busy workload
  • A positive, proactive and 'can-do' attitude
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade A-C or equivalent)
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment is advantageous
  • Experience using Sage is desirable
