We have a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Bench Joiner reporting into the Assembly area team leader, to execute the assembly of finished timber based products as per specifications and to the required level of quality. Attention to detail is key in this role as well as speed of execution. Some degree of hand machining will be involved in some of the work required.

Hours: 8am - 4.30pm Mon to Fri - 40 hours per week Overtime 1 x after 40 hours
Key Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Ability to read and understand 2D and 3D CAD drawings in order to fully comprehend the specification and client requirement.
- Ability to read and understand all supportive manufacturing documents such as cutting lists or factory orders documentation.
- Any assembly work will be communicated by the Assembly team leader in order to detail and advise on the manufacturing approach.
- In some occasions, a handover meeting will take place on larger projects in order to provide a full overview of the project as well as highlight any critical details.
- Report back to the team leader if any issues are identified during the assembly process.
- Components required for the assembly process will be fully machined prior to being allocated to the bench joiner.
- Ability to use hand tools such as hand trimmers, hand saws, hand edgers as well as manual tools such as chisels, etc.
- Knowledge & ability to work with any material such as MFC, MFMDF, sprayed elements, veneered elements or solid wood.
- Ensure that quality expectations are maintained throughout the assembly process in line with customer expectations.
- Ability to take on large elements for assembly such as reception desks, high-end residential furniture, etc.
- Completion of the work within the allocated timescale.
- Provide input on assembly methods for current and future work.
- Ensure that appropriate Personal Protection Equipment is worn at all times.
- Based on the shop floor planning and workload, additional duties and support might be needed in other areas of the business.
- Occasionally there might be some requirement to attend site in order to carry out some work but the role will be primarily factory based.
- Challenge current ways of working to increase shop floor efficiency.
- Ensure factory housekeeping standards are maintained.
- Ensure health & safety standards are maintained at all times (use of PPE).
- Ensure Environmental standards are maintained at all times.
- Assist with other business manufacturing processes whenever required.
Qualification:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a bench joiner doing similar work is necessary.
- Possess own joinery tools is necessary.
- Knowledge of joinery assembly practices is necessary.
- Knowledge of timber material specification is necessary.
- Previous experience in working in a factory environment would be an advantage.
