The Opportunity An industry-leading specialist contractor is looking to appoint a Site Engineer to join one of the UK's largest and most technically challenging infrastructure projects.
Working on major ground engineering, diaphragm wall and soil improvement packages , you'll play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure while gaining experience on a nationally significant clean energy programme.
The Role As Site Engineer, you'll take ownership of day-to-day engineering activities across your allocated workfronts, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards. You'll work closely with site management, commercial, quality and engineering teams within a collaborative NEC4 Alliance environment.
Key Responsibilities Site Engineering & Delivery Manage day-to-day engineering activities across assigned workfronts
Coordinate labour, plant, subcontractors and materials
Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, RAMS and ITPs
Maintain accurate site records, engineering documentation and technical reports
Resolve site engineering issues and support construction teams
Health, Safety & Quality Promote a strong safety culture across site
Deliver daily briefings and toolbox talks
Ensure compliance with permits and safe systems of work
Manage inspections, testing and quality documentation
Produce as-built records and assist with project handover documentation
Planning & Programme Maintain short-term and look-ahead programmes
Monitor progress against programme milestones
Identify risks, constraints and opportunities to improve delivery
Support recovery planning where required
Assist with productivity reporting and sequencing of works
Commercial & Contracts Support procurement and subcontractor management
Raise and manage Early Warnings and change notifications
Assist with Compensation Events and commercial reporting
Ensure compliance with NEC4 contract procedures
Support cost control and project reporting
Teamwork & Development Work closely with project managers, engineers and commercial teams
Supervise operatives, subcontractors and junior engineers where required
Mentor graduates and apprentices
Build positive working relationships across the project team
About You We're looking for someone with:
Degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
Experience working as a Site Engineer on major civil engineering or infrastructure projects
Knowledge of ground engineering, diaphragm walls or soil improvement works
Experience working under NEC contracts (NEC4 desirable)
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills
CSCS and SSSTS or SMSTS
Experience using AutoCAD, MS Project or P6, CEMAR and Microsoft Office
Desirable 2-5 years' experience in a Site Engineer or Section Engineer role
First Aid qualification
Appointed Person qualification
Alliance project experience
Experience with NEC4 Early Warnings and Compensation Events
