The role
You'll lead and deliver a range of building investigation and pathology projects, acting as the key point of contact for clients. Your work will include:
- Intrusive & non-intrusive condition surveys
- Defect diagnosis and root cause analysis
- Concrete investigations (corrosion, deterioration)
- Water ingress and façade issues
- Non-destructive testing (GPR, ultrasonic, etc.)
- Building investigations for repurposing and design input
- Coordinating laboratory testing and interpreting results
You'll also:
- Produce clear, practical, client-facing reports
- Manage projects (programme, budget, quality)
- Build strong client relationships
- Deliver practical solutions
- Plan resources, allocate tasks and monitor performance
- Mentor junior team members
- Contribute to technical and process improvements
What we're looking for
- Background in Building Surveying, Structural Engineering, or similar
- Experience with building investigations / defect diagnosis
- Strong reporting and client-facing skills
- Ready to take ownership or step up into project leadership
- Commercial awareness and problem-solving mindset
- RICS / ICE / CIOB (or similar) desirable, not essential
