Our client is a well-established manufacturing business based in Hinckley, specialising in the design, manufacture, and installation of bespoke products for the retail, museum, leisure, and commercial sectors. Recognised as a market leader in joinery and display solutions, they have built an excellent reputation for quality, precision, and reliability. Their projects combine materials including timber, metal, glass, laminates, veneers, plastics, solid surfaces, and specialist paint finishes to create innovative and cost-effective solutions.

The Role:

Due to continued growth, our client is looking to recruit a Van Driver with FLT to join their busy Goods In, Stores, and Despatch team. This is a varied, hands-on role supporting warehouse and workshop operations, ensuring stock is received, stored, picked, packed, and dispatched accurately while maintaining high standards of organisation, efficiency, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving, unloading, and checking incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Booking stock into the warehouse management system and storing materials in the correct locations.
  • Picking, packing, wrapping, and preparing manufactured products for dispatch.
  • Loading and unloading stock using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck.
  • Safely operating forklift trucks and other warehouse equipment.
  • Supporting stock control, inventory accuracy, and general stores duties.
  • Assisting with container unloading and general warehouse operations.
  • Handballing stock and carrying out manual handling duties.
  • Supporting both Goods In and Despatch activities as required.
  • Delivering products to customers using a company van (up to 3.5 tonnes), primarily locally with occasional deliveries to London or Manchester.
  • Assisting with general workshop and production support duties when required.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Following all company Health & Safety procedures.

The Candidate:

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous experience in a Stores, Goods In, Warehouse, Manufacturing, or Logistics environment.
  • A valid Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence and previous FLT operating experience (preferred).
  • A full, clean UK driving licence with confidence driving a van up to 3.5 tonnes.
  • Experience using warehouse management or stock control systems.
  • Good computer literacy with the ability to accurately book stock in and out.
  • Good understanding of warehouse processes and stock management.
  • Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately.
  • A good level of physical fitness to carry out manual handling duties.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn.
  • Reliable with excellent timekeeping.

Licence / Certification:

Essential:

  • Full UK Driving Licence

Preferred:

  • Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) Licence or proven FLT operating experience
