We are currently recruiting for an experienced Press Brake Operator to join a well-established fabrication and engineering business specialising in stainless steel fabrications. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled operator looking for a stable, long-term position working on a permanent weekday dayshift.
The successful candidate will have experience operating a manual press brake machine, producing high-quality stainless steel components and fabrications to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and operate a manual press brake machine.
- Bend and form stainless steel sheet metal components.
- Work from technical drawings, work instructions and fabrication specifications.
- Produce accurate, high-quality fabricated parts to required tolerances.
- Carry out first-off and in-process quality inspections.
- Select appropriate tooling and adjust machine settings as required.
- Handle light fabrication work and small to medium batch production.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
- Support continuous improvement and production efficiency initiatives.
- Previous experience as a Press Brake Operator, Brake Press Setter Operator, Sheet Metal Worker, or Fabrication Operative.
- Experience operating a manual press brake machine.
- Strong background working with stainless steel fabrication and sheet metal.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Good understanding of measuring equipment and quality standards.
- High attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Experience within light fabrication, sheet metal manufacturing or precision engineering.
- Knowledge of stainless steel finishing and fabrication processes.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering or production environment.
